Having analyzed multiple companies to evaluate their patent portfolio, Effectual Services provides a robust mechanism to map a competitor. The study is aimed to highlight R&D activity, recent trends, new product/ technology development activity for a company. The need to analyze a competitors’ portfolio may arise to have a deep dive look in their patent portfolio for purposes of competitive intelligence, benchmarking portfolio of various companies, acquisition analysis or identifying shift in R&D activity.

Many projects have been done by Effectual Services where we ventured out to identify the right partner for our client with an aim to either acquire or collaborate for a specific line of business or problem area. The core of this analysis is to define the problem in consultation with the client, define geography of interest, financial cut-off in terms of company size, product line, existing customers and revenue, production facilities and their management and investor profiles. Thereafter, identify and screen relevant technologies, products and companies, look for implementation details, provide feasibility assessment, and propose the right fit shortlist. All the above steps are taken in consultation with the client to tweak the research process as needed to better filter out non-essential solutions. Due diligence of selected few potential partners is done along with SWOT analysis, future market potential, patent strength and more.

We have successfully executed projects involving scouting for technology which our client can either take a license to, acquire or collaborate for. The newsletters can be tailor made to client’s specific needs in case focus needs to be kept on a list of competitors, their product lines or a specific technology space.
